“If life on Spaceship Earth came with a manual, I reckon most people would toss it aside after a quick glance and dive head first into the shiny new Thing they’ve just acquired. After multiple attempts at mastering life skills, a few small successes and some spectacular disasters, the sensible ones would then turn to that manual and get serious about learning some essentials.
Where do you find a wise and compassionate guide to help you through? Religion and ancient texts can help…a little…for some. Modern spiritual teachings can help a little too, but honestly, when you’re broke, depressed, anxious and alone – do endless love and light, fluffy bunnies and angel wings help? Does the guy in the chair channeling some off-world 6th dimensional dude, prattling on in a weird accent about unconditional love help? Does it help to fall into victim mode, boring the pants off everyone within hearing about how the world has done you wrong? Does dressing like a recycled hippy, camping on a cold mountain side, chanting for the saucers to come down and whisk you off to Andromeda help?
The short answer is NO, although all these things can be entertaining. In the end, what it comes down to is YOU – your own unique journey of self-discovery. Surprisingly, we humans usually need help to identify our own strengths and weaknesses, because we can’t see the forest for the trees. Most of us can remember a book, a phrase, a passing comment from a friend, that changed our lives because it brought sudden understanding of a particular circumstance or event. It changed our perspective, our perception, and it was a catalyst for change.
When you know you need to change, you may go looking for that Manual. If you’re living in downtown New York in the early 21st century, you’re not going to seek advice from someone who’s lived their entire life in Outer Mongolia, are you? Or medieval England, or the Pleiades? You want someone here and now, someone who’s lived, loved, had her heart broken and very nearly her spirit as well, and come through it all with bucket loads of wisdom, compassion and knowledge. Someone who can take feelings and yearnings and translate them into words that ring with truth and genuine desire to help you through.
That someone is Heather Mandel. No matter how messy you think your life is, how damaged and incompetent you feel, Heather will help you make sense of it and take essential steps towards achieving your goals. She’s eminently qualified for the job, because she’s been there and done it. There’s nothing fake about Heather, and trust me—I can spot a fake a mile away. I’m an Aussie, it comes with the territory.
Heather has a God-given talent for inspiring others through her mastery of language and her deep intuition and wisdom. When you know you need the Manual, Heather is it. I don’t trust many people in this world to be honest, but I trust Heather. I believe she was born to guide and lead others through the wilderness of modern life. Read her words and you’ll believe it too.”
